- I completed my Masters of Science in Education degree at the University of Kansas. The most challenging part of the program for me was Educational Measurement, student teaching and the Masters test (3 10-page essays). I'm happy to finally graduated. I'll miss my friends, the restaurants, the shopping, and my little apartment in Lawrence, KS.
- I had a trip outside of the United States for the first time in my life. My family and I had a cruise to Cozumel, Mexico and saw the ancient city of Tulum. The cruise had tons of food and entertainment. We took so many pictures during our travel.
- My family made a huge change by moving closer to my sister in Houston, Texas. We moved to Pearland (20 minutes south of Houston) which took 3 U-Haul trips along with smaller trips with our 3 cars. To prepare for this trip, we had a garage sale and did tons of cleaning and fixing up around the house. The house we moved into is smaller but cozy. My cousin Arnold was so helpful in helpings us move and we hired movers that certainly earned their pay.
- Hurricane Harvey is the least positive thing on this list. The hurricane destroyed many people's homes. My family and I were stuck inside for almost 3 weeks. Luckily, our new house we just moved into was not damaged and we had continuous power and food.
- I got a new job in July as an instructor and tutor. I taught 5th grade during the summer program, when the school year started, I tutored the 6th grade class. I'm learning a lot at this job and hope that it prepares me for my future career.
- I bought the Xbox One S when Movie Exchange, a pre-owned/used movie/music/games store had a 40% off sale. The deal I got for this 1 TB console was better than the Black Friday sales. I could finally play the exclusive Xbox games that I couldn't play before since I only had the Playstation 4.
- As always, the holidays are always enjoyable. This Independence Day, my cousins from Oklahoma/Dallas came to visit along with my new niece. We shot fireworks and ate at Super Buffet. Thanksgiving was nice in that we had many friends and family come over for a big meal at our house. There was a huge Christmas mass at the GRB center in downtown Houston. And we went to my sister's in-laws for Christmas dinner.
- Some of the most anticipated movies of my life were released this year: Logan (an X-Men movie), Spider-Man Homecoming, Justice League, Star Wars the Last Jedi, Transformers, and Resident Evil, among others.
