Here's the soundtrack of my life. It's NOT a list of favorite songs, it's a list of songs that bring me memories. Good times, bad times, etc. Here's the list...
Nguyen Hung - Sau DongI know the lyrics to only 3 Vietnamese songs and this one is the least depressing. I remembered singing this song in front of the class in Viet School and performing this at my uncle's wedding. I also sung this song at a family reunion in Oregon. I got a rose for singing this song too. Good memories!
Garth Brooks - The DanceWhen I had my desktop support job, I met this girl on an internet message board. I would chat with her for like 4 hours each day. I really enjoyed our conversations. On occasion, we would debate and bicker and then not talk to each other for a very long time. So whenever I hear this song, I get all sad and start thinking about her and all the fun conversations we had.
Aladdin - A Whole New WorldMy ENTIRE family went to see Aladdin in theaters. Aladdin's one of my favorite Disney movies. I also sung this song for the Asian Student Conference's first Assembly. Although the performance itself was 100%, I still had a great time and made a lot of friends in that organization.
Celine Dion - My Heart Will Go OnWhen Titanic came out, I heard this song EVERYWHERE and started singing it in class and all that. This was the only other movie where my ENTIRE family went to see together (my parents, uncles, aunts, grandparents, cousins...).
Bernadette Farrell - Christ Be Our LightI started singing in my church choir since I was in sixth grade and am still in it today. Greatest group of people I've ever been with! And this was one of those songs that I practically memorized. I know how to play on the guitar and can sing (in harmony) without having to look at the book. ^_^
Britney Spears - Baby One More TimeHer first hit. My sister really got into Britney Spears. If I come across the name Britney, the first thing that pops into my mind is my only sister, the one who understands me the most and loves me for who I am.
Spice Girls - Too MuchOnce again, another song that reminds me of my sister. Only this time, throw in my dad too. This is like the first song that was sung in the movie "Spice World", which my dad, sister and I probably have seen like a million times. It's a funny movie! Heck! I own this movie just for that reason.
Alicia Keys - No OneI used to hear this song in between segments of the Bobby Bones morning show. And now I listen to that radio show religiously. Got to meet Bobby a couple months ago too! :D I remember a DJPT hangout where I had this on my MP3 Player and sung this song while waiting in the movie theatre. Josh and Tony moved 5 seats away due to embarrassment from my singing and this girl behind us was like "I'd sit next to him". ^_^
Natasha Bedingfield - Pocketful Of SunshineAnother funny moment with the DJPT gang. I had my MP3 Player hooked up to my car and this song was playing, right? Well, we got so into our conversation in the car that we didn't realize that this song was on loop. It probably played for like 20 minutes on repeat. By the time we got out of the car, we were so sick of this song (and yet so addicted).
Linkin Park - What I've DoneI really enjoyed the movie Transformers. Saw it with the DJPT group. Tony said "That movie was made for David!" After seeing that movie, I got obsessed with Transformers and started collecting toys again. We saw that movie late and even after we saw the movie, so much adrenaline was pumped into us that we continued to hang out even though it was time to call it a day.
Daughtry - HomeThis song is not a happy song to me. The band was here for a concert at the River Festival here in Wichita and the DJPT gang went (with Tony's uncle, Johnny). Anyway, during this concert, my camcorder was stolen and it totally ticked me off for the longest time. To this day, I can hear those words from Josh: "David, forget that camcorder and let's go see the concert! Laugh now, cry later!!" Grr!
Leona Lewis - Bleeding LoveOMG!! The DJPT group probably heard this song like 30 times during our car rides in Florida. I don't know if the others noticed... We'd switch from one radio station to another right? Well, this song would play on one station, and then we switch and then hear it again!! So sick of it now! But it brings memories.
