"Love"
by David A. Nguyen

When the two of you begin to dress alike,...

Have matching [fake] tattoos,...

Feel comfortable Having dinner at each other's houses,...

Everything in your room reminds you of that person,...

and you just want to tell the whole world about it...
Is it love?

Alice in Wonderland a Disney Princess

"Alice vs the Disney Princesses"
by David Nguyen and Brianna Chan

Why is Alice not considered a Disney princess? Alice has millions of fans world wide! In the game 'Kingdom Hearts', she was considered a princess. Do you think Square Enix would lie to the entire world? How could Disney not make her a Disney Princess? It has ruined her reputation.

Let's compare her to those Disney Princesses. Alice is as close to a princess as it gets. She has T-shirts, mugs, posters, pins, and other products with her face plastered all over them. The movie she's in actually had her name in the title. I don't see Jasmine ("Aladdin") with her name in the title!

Alice may not have a "Prince Charming" or a big kiss at the end of the movie, but that just proves that she's not a some girl who falls madly in love with a guy after knowing him for less than ten minutes. Yeah, I'm talking to you Aurora ("Sleeping Beauty")!

Alice is the kinda' girl that little kids idolize. She's cute, young, and witty. Look at Cinderella who needs a fairy to guide her entire life. Without the fairy godmother, Cinderella would still be scrubbing the floors!

And how about Belle ("Beauty and the Beast")!? She's an absolute nutcase for falling in love with a demon! He practically abused her! You can't help solve everyone's problems, Belle, sweety.

And what about that fish!? Ariel ("The Little Mermaid") is just a selfish wrench for wanting legs. She should be happy with the way she was born! She is just another low life that falls in love with a guy, who just HAPPENS to be a prince.

Alice has two books! Two stories! Those Disney princesses only have one official story and Disney made some idiotic sequels to them. Do you know what the name of Chapter IX is in "Alice Through the Looking Glass"? QUEEN ALICE!! QUEEN! Not princess! Move over Disney Princesses, here comes the Disney Queen...
QUEEN ALICE!!

DJPT BIG Coincidence

Okay, so my bros and I went to the State Fair right? It was AWESOME and the weather was BEAUTIFUL!!! The experience was amazing. And there's this one thing I just gotta share!

Okay, now take a look at this picture, study it. It's a photo of these little characters that kids stand next to to see if they're tall enough for the rides. Especially keep in mind what they're wearing okay?

Alright! Now here's a picture of us standing next to the poster thingy.

You notice the similarities? What a coincidence right? Josh (The one in orange) was the one who saw it first and he was like "IT'S US!!!!" The rest of us turned around and we were like "OMG WTF!!" Even the lady who took our picture thought it was funny!

I couldn't stop talking about it. It was absolutely hilarious! I've also uploaded a video of our experience. So what are your thoughts? Anything come to mind?

David's Favorite Breakfast

In general, people who eat breakfast have more energy and do better in school. Without breakfast, you can get irritable, restless, and tired. Today, we're gonna have some toast, eggs, and potatoes. I wish I had some bacon... Here are the ingredients (the amount is to your preference): Bread, vegetables, onions, eggs, salt, cheese, season peppers, oregano, butter.

The potatoes take the most time. First slice up your potatoes into tiny squares. Heat butter and oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the potatoes and onions, and stir to coat. Let it cook, stirring occasionally, until potatoes are tender and golden brown. This takes about 15-20 minutes. After the potatoes are cooked, season with salt and pepper. I add oregano for the sake of taste too! ;) Set your potatoes aside.

While some slices of bread, with butter, are in the toaster, make scramble eggs. Eggs do not take long to make at all. Stir up a couple eggs in a pot until it's solid and fluffy. I like to add cheese to my eggs for texture and flavor. Add salt and pepper to your eggs if you like. Now place the potatoes, eggs, and bread slices onto a plate. Now it's ready to be served!

I love a meal that has a member of each food group. The cheese in the eggs belong to the dairy group. Eggs itself belong to meat and proteins. Bread is bread. Potatoes are vegetables and I added an apple to satisfy my fruit requirement. Today, I had soy milk as my drink. :)

I hope you enjoyed your breakfast as much as I did. Breakfast is indeed the most important meal of the day. Maybe next time, I'll show you how I make lunch with Potato Lasagna.

My first Clay project (Butters from South Park)

I have so many hobbies. Collecting, drawing, photography,... There was one thing I've always wanted to explore. And that is making things out of clay! I did make a ring and a dinosaur in High School art class but that's about it. I was never much of a playdough boy...

So I bought a little tub of "Crayola's Air-Dry Clay". I took it home, laid out some newspaper, wetted my hands and just dug in! At the time, I was following an auction on Ebay for this action figure of Butters from South Park. So how about I save myself $40 and just make him myself huh?

So I molded him (which was harder than I thought) and then went to sleep so he could air-dry. When I woke up, he's all hard and ready to be painted!!

I use the paints that I use to touch up my collections. And then I used a permanent marker to draw his face. TADA!!! Behold my homemade Butters figure!

It's not bad... I can see, after time and practice, that I'll make some great works of art. Either way, this is definitely fun!

David Likes Twitter

I found this blog interesting and I think it'll help some people. Before I get to it though, Sherry, Erin and I are going to the MS Walk and we'd love to have more volunteers. If anyone's free from like 7AM to 12PM, let me know. :) Autism Care Walk is also this Saturday at the same time! Kudos if you're going to either one! "Join the movement to move others"!

"The Deal with Twitter"
by Rob Domanski (Compressed by David Nguyen)

The media has officially anointed Twitter "The Next Big Thing". But amidst all the hype, people are continuously failing to understand how to use it or what to do. So I'm gonna explain what all the fuss is about.

First of all, do *NOT* think of Twitter the same way as you think of Facebook or MySpace. Twitter will fail on you if you do. "Social Networking Site"? In my opinion, No. On FaceSpace, you create a social-network of FRIENDS who you know in the real world. On Twitter, you create a network of FOLLOWERS, most of whom you do not know at all. They are merely people who find your updates interesting. Many popular people (or someone closely affiliated with them) use Twitter such as Shaquille O'Neil, Ellen DeGeneres, Barack Obama, Jimmy Fallon, Britney Spears...

So why bother? The magic of Twitter lies in two things. First, the purpose of Twitter is to have real-time conversations with like-minded people who you've never met. If you have followers who share your interests, then you can post a tweet that says, "In need of a good book recommendation. Any ideas?". I've done this myself. Within a few minutes I had a dozen recommendations from different people with similar taste.

Second, Twitter is FABULOUS as a source for instant news and information. For example, remember when the plane that crash-landed in the Hudson River last month? When I first heard about it, I didn't go to the New York Times website nor did I turn on CNN. Both of those have time lags from the moment when something occurs until it is actually covered. Twitter already had hundreds of people talking about it, eyewitness accounts, way before the press had their first coverage. Basically, because Twitter posts messages live, you can read and discuss things as they are actually happening.

Once you've created a rich network of followers, you'll be amazed at how much useful information is out there, and how fun it is, as well as the dialogues taking place around it. Remember, the real power of Twitter is in the conversations. The more you comment, re-tweet, and reply to other people's messages, the more you'll get from the experience.

[END]

My only advice to those who are still confused with Twitter is to not use it for only friends (that's for Facebook). You'll be bored quick. Post with the world as your audience, not your friends. For me, it's my one-stop for the latest in news, events, weather, movies, music, and Alice. I follow this one profile where it updates me on the latest volunteer opportunities and another where I get coupons. Useful stuff! I got into Twitter easy because I have a lot of interests. If you do have a Twitter, follow me! :)

Soundtrack of my Life

Here's the soundtrack of my life. It's NOT a list of favorite songs, it's a list of songs that bring me memories. Good times, bad times, etc. Here's the list...

Nguyen Hung - Sau Dong
I know the lyrics to only 3 Vietnamese songs and this one is the least depressing. I remembered singing this song in front of the class in Viet School and performing this at my uncle's wedding. I also sung this song at a family reunion in Oregon. I got a rose for singing this song too. Good memories!

Garth Brooks - The Dance
When I had my desktop support job, I met this girl on an internet message board. I would chat with her for like 4 hours each day. I really enjoyed our conversations. On occasion, we would debate and bicker and then not talk to each other for a very long time. So whenever I hear this song, I get all sad and start thinking about her and all the fun conversations we had.

Aladdin - A Whole New World
My ENTIRE family went to see Aladdin in theaters. Aladdin's one of my favorite Disney movies. I also sung this song for the Asian Student Conference's first Assembly. Although the performance itself was 100%, I still had a great time and made a lot of friends in that organization.

Celine Dion - My Heart Will Go On
When Titanic came out, I heard this song EVERYWHERE and started singing it in class and all that. This was the only other movie where my ENTIRE family went to see together (my parents, uncles, aunts, grandparents, cousins...).

Bernadette Farrell - Christ Be Our Light
I started singing in my church choir since I was in sixth grade and am still in it today. Greatest group of people I've ever been with! And this was one of those songs that I practically memorized. I know how to play on the guitar and can sing (in harmony) without having to look at the book. ^_^

Britney Spears - Baby One More Time
Her first hit. My sister really got into Britney Spears. If I come across the name Britney, the first thing that pops into my mind is my only sister, the one who understands me the most and loves me for who I am.

Spice Girls - Too Much
Once again, another song that reminds me of my sister. Only this time, throw in my dad too. This is like the first song that was sung in the movie "Spice World", which my dad, sister and I probably have seen like a million times. It's a funny movie! Heck! I own this movie just for that reason.

Alicia Keys - No One
I used to hear this song in between segments of the Bobby Bones morning show. And now I listen to that radio show religiously. Got to meet Bobby a couple months ago too! :D I remember a DJPT hangout where I had this on my MP3 Player and sung this song while waiting in the movie theatre. Josh and Tony moved 5 seats away due to embarrassment from my singing and this girl behind us was like "I'd sit next to him". ^_^

Natasha Bedingfield - Pocketful Of Sunshine
Another funny moment with the DJPT gang. I had my MP3 Player hooked up to my car and this song was playing, right? Well, we got so into our conversation in the car that we didn't realize that this song was on loop. It probably played for like 20 minutes on repeat. By the time we got out of the car, we were so sick of this song (and yet so addicted).

Linkin Park - What I've Done
I really enjoyed the movie Transformers. Saw it with the DJPT group. Tony said "That movie was made for David!" After seeing that movie, I got obsessed with Transformers and started collecting toys again. We saw that movie late and even after we saw the movie, so much adrenaline was pumped into us that we continued to hang out even though it was time to call it a day.

Daughtry - Home
This song is not a happy song to me. The band was here for a concert at the River Festival here in Wichita and the DJPT gang went (with Tony's uncle, Johnny). Anyway, during this concert, my camcorder was stolen and it totally ticked me off for the longest time. To this day, I can hear those words from Josh: "David, forget that camcorder and let's go see the concert! Laugh now, cry later!!" Grr!

Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love
OMG!! The DJPT group probably heard this song like 30 times during our car rides in Florida. I don't know if the others noticed... We'd switch from one radio station to another right? Well, this song would play on one station, and then we switch and then hear it again!! So sick of it now! But it brings memories.

David Is Fat and Happy

When I went to this graduation party a month ago, this one dude said that I sure gained some weight since he last saw me. My parents said I should start jogging or working out. My sister says I'm fat. And the other day, this girl in my CMA class said that I look 7 months pregnant when turned to the side... Would you agree with her?

I don't know what's causing it... But it seems my chin has layers now too...

I think it's funny. Kinda fits my personality to be a little chubby...

Remember Old Facebook

Facebook has had its share of changes through the years. Looking through old stuff and found screenshots of my old profile. This was what a FB profile looked like when I first joined like 2 years ago. I believe it looked even more simple before that.

Here's the NEWSFEED opening page.
Everyone's status updates and recent activty would show up on the front page. But unlike today, no one can 'comment' or 'like' them. If you want to say something, you just go on their profile and post a comment on their wall.

Here's my PROFILE.
Everything would be on one page instead of the tabs of today. Each application is in movable boxes that can be collapsed and open again. Your last status would disappear for good when you update. People's comments would be in the WALL box and your activity would be in the Mini-Feed (Now they combined it).

And noticed that they haven't added the whole chatting feature yet. Yup! Times have sure changed. They haven't changed THAT much though. There's a few things I miss and others that took awhile to adjust. The comment on wall posts thing is EXTREMELY annoying to me. I get less wall posts now thanks to that...
